October is the perfect time for treats, costumes, and fun — and this year, you can make it even more meaningful. By adding a twist to your Halloween and fall festivities, you can help raise awareness and funds for kids battling cancer. Here are some easy and creative ways to BOO Kids’ Cancer this October!

1. Attach a BOO Kids’ Cancer Flyer to Your Boo Basket

Turn the classic neighborhood tradition into something that gives back! Attach a St. Baldrick’s BOO Kids’ Cancer flyers to your Boo Basket when you hand out treats to friends, family, or coworkers. Not only will your neighbors enjoy the goodies, but they’ll also learn how to support children with cancer.

2. Halloween, Fall Festival, or Company Party Fundraiser

Add a charitable twist to your seasonal gatherings:

  • Host a Halloween party, spooky movie trivia night, fall festival, or company event with a small donation to attend.
  • Turn pumpkin decorating or costume contests into mini fundraisers, where participants contribute to join or vote.
  • Ask local companies hosting trunk-or-treats if they’d like to include a charity tie-in.

If you’d like to explore fundraising ideas, please contact Events@stbaldricks.org.

3. Join the Backpack Challenge

The Send Kids’ Cancer Packing Backpack Challenge is St. Baldrick’s new fundraising initiative that invites participants to wear a St. Baldrick’s green backpack for 28 days to stand in solidarity with kids with B-cell ALL, a type of childhood leukemia that now has a lifesaving treatment available through a backpack. These kids wear the backpack for 28 consecutive days.

Not only does the challenge symbolize the progress being made for kids with cancer, it also gives participants a platform to help fund the next breakthroughs for all types of childhood cancer.

Join the challenge this October and take your backpack to all your fall festivities — or get creative and incorporate it into your costume:

  • Ghostbuster (backpack as the proton pack)
  • Superhero with a utility backpack
  • Adventurer or explorer
  • Witch or wizard with a potion-filled backpack

Share photos at pumpkin patches, parties, or trunk-or-treat events — every post helps spread the word and raise critical funds for lifesaving research.
