St. Baldrick’s Childhood Cancer Research Foundation is joining forces with Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) and Beast Philanthropy to help raise awareness about the need to fund critical cancer research and create the next SU2C Pediatric Cancer Dream Team.
This campaign will support a collaborative team of scientists working together to tackle some of childhood cancer’s biggest research challenges and develop better treatments for kids. As part of this effort, St. Baldrick’s has committed to raising $1.5 million, continuing our longstanding investment in collaborative childhood cancer research.
A Global Spotlight on Childhood Cancer Research
This effort is receiving global attention through an inspiring new video from MrBeast’s YouTube channel, created in partnership with MrBeast and Beast Philanthropy. With an audience of more than 508 million subscribers, MrBeast is helping bring the urgent need for childhood cancer research to millions of people around the world.
In the video, Jimmy Donaldson (MrBeast) grants 100 wishes for kids with cancer, creating moments of joy and hope for children and their families. Several St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids were featured, giving our community the opportunity to be part of this meaningful effort.
But the video reveals an even bigger wish shared by families everywhere: cures for all childhood cancers.
The video also announces a new collaboration between Beast Philanthropy, Stand Up To Cancer and St. Baldrick’s to help create the next SU2C Pediatric Cancer Dream Team and together find cures.

What Is a SU2C Pediatric Cancer Dream Team?
A SU2C Dream Team is a collaborative research project that brings together leading scientists, clinicians, and institutions to tackle complex childhood cancer challenges.
Rather than working in separate labs, researchers work together—sharing data, expertise, and discoveries in real time. By combining different perspectives and areas of expertise, they can answer bigger questions and move promising research forward faster.
How Will This New Dream Team Be Chosen?
Before a single research project begins, the right team has to be assembled.
SU2C will issue a nationwide call for research proposals. Scientists and institutions will submit ideas for the next Pediatric Cancer Dream Team, outlining how they would work together to address critical challenges in childhood cancer.
Those proposals will then undergo a rigorous scientific review by a committee of leading pediatric cancer experts and members of Stand Up To Cancer’s Scientific Advisory Committee. As a funding partner, St. Baldrick’s will nominate one representative to serve on the selection committee, helping oversee the review process alongside other experts. Every application is evaluated for scientific excellence, innovation, collaboration, and the potential to improve outcomes for children with cancer.
This process helps ensure that donor dollars support the strongest science and the research with the greatest potential to improve outcomes for kids.

Why St. Baldrick’s Continues to Invest in Collaborative Research
In 2013, St. Baldrick’s joined Stand Up To Cancer and other partners to co-fund the first-ever Pediatric Cancer Dream Team through a $14.5 million grant. Following its success, St. Baldrick’s continued supporting the collaboration with $10.8 million in additional funding under its new name, EPICC (Empowering Pediatric Immunotherapies for Childhood Cancer).
Together, those investments helped support 45 clinical trials, treat more than 1,370 children, advance the first FDA-approved gene therapies for childhood cancer, and drive discoveries that are changing how researchers approach blood, brain, and bone cancers.
