Take Childhood Back From Cancer This September

Every day, childhood is stolen from kids with cancer. Instead of laughing on playgrounds, learning in classrooms, or playing sports with friends, too many kids spend their days in hospitals, facing treatments that are often harsh and outdated. Childhood should be about joy, discovery, and dreams — not cancer.

This September, during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation invites you to join us in our mission to Take Childhood Back From Cancer. Together, we can fund the research that leads to safer treatments and cures, giving kids the chance to simply be kids again.

How You Can Take Action

Here are seven powerful ways to make a big impact for kids with cancer this September:

1. Donate

Your gift funds lifesaving research that paves the way to safer, more effective treatments. Every dollar brings us closer to cures and helps kids take back the childhood cancer has stolen.

2. Join the Backpack Challenge

This September, we’re launching Send Kids’ Cancer Packing — a new fundraising challenge inspired by a breakthrough treatment for kids with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. These kids can now receive therapy through a wearable backpack for 28 days, allowing them to be treated at home instead of the hospital — a small step toward giving them their childhood back.

To honor their strength and help fund the next breakthrough, supporters will:

    • Wear a backpack for 28 days, or walk/run 28 miles with one
    • Raise $2,500 in honor of the 2,500 kids diagnosed with B-cell ALL each year

The goal? To fund research that gives more kids the chance to grow up, chase dreams, and simply be kids again.

3. Create a “Do What You Want” Fundraiser

Turn your passion into progress. From bake sales to bike rides, you can raise money your way and fuel the next lifesaving breakthrough for kids with cancer.

4. Shave Your Head (Virtually or In-Person)

Be bold, go bald! Show kids with cancer they’re not alone by shaving your head and raising funds for research. Every shave sparks awareness, solidarity, and hope.

5. Raise Awareness with Our Social Media Toolkit

Your voice matters. Share stories, facts, and graphics to inspire your community to get involved and take action.

6. Shop Merch That Gives Back

Show your support by purchasing a limited-edition St. Baldrick’s t-shirt. Wear it proudly to raise awareness and spark conversations!

Headbands of Hope is partnering with St. Baldrick’s once again and going gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. For every item purchased from their Gold for Good Collection, they will donate two headbands to children in treatment and a portion of every sale to St. Baldrick’s. Shop the Gold for Good Collection today.

7. Join the St. Baldrick’s Speak Up Network

Advocacy saves lives. By joining our Speak Up Network, you can urge lawmakers to prioritize childhood cancer research and ensure kids get the funding they deserve.

Together, We Can Take Childhood Back

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, remember: kids deserve laughter, learning, and play — not hospital rooms. Whether you donate, fundraise, shave, shop, or advocate, you are helping to give kids the future they deserve.

Together, let’s take childhood back from cancer.
