“I’m thrilled to return to the head-shaving stage this year for an amazing cause.  My brother, Brian Kenny, has shaved over the past few years, and I’m excited to carry the torch this year. When my dad and his co-founders came up with the idea for St. Baldrick’s over two decades ago, I don’t think anyone could have imagined how much of an amazing impact that they would have. I’m beyond proud of all that the organization has done for the children and their families!”

The Kenny family’s commitment to St. Baldrick’s spans generations. His father co-founded the organization more than 25 years ago. His brother, Brian Kenny, has taken the shave chair in recent years. His mother, Lynn, and sister, Laura, have long served as dedicated volunteer event organizers and supporters — making St. Baldrick’s truly a family mission.

That mission began with a bold challenge: shaving heads to raise money for childhood cancer research. As a co-founder of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, Tim Kenny helped turn that simple idea into a global movement. His leadership — particularly in engaging the insurance and reinsurance industry — played a pivotal role in growing St. Baldrick’s into the largest charity funder of childhood cancer research grants in the United States. Over the past 25 years, he has served as a volunteer, shavee, board member, and one of the Foundation’s largest donors, helping provide hope and access to lifesaving treatments for children worldwide.

“When we first issued the challenge to shave our heads to raise money for childhood cancer research, we never could have imagined the growth or the impact it would have,” said Tim Kenny. “I’m incredibly proud of what St. Baldrick’s has become — and even more proud to see my family, and so many others continue to step up year after year. Every dollar raised brings us closer to better treatments and cures for kids, and that mission is just as urgent today as it was 25 years ago.”

The March 7 event will bring together families, childhood cancer survivors, volunteers, and community supporters for an afternoon of inspiration and action. Attendees will witness live head shaves, share stories of courage and hope, and celebrate the collective impact of their fundraising efforts — all showing solidarity with children battling cancer and helping to fund critical research that brings new treatments and cures closer to reality.

Media are invited to attend; interviews with Tim Kenny Jr., as well as live photo and video opportunities of the head shave, will be available.
