7 Ways to Make Your Virtual Shave Fun

Virtual shave event

St. Baldrick’s was founded on the premise of doing things differently, because let’s face it, shaving heads in large groups isn’t exactly what most would consider “normal.” While in-person events continue to be challenging, we can still gather as a community to keep the party going –from the comfort and safety of your own home. See how much fun a virtual event can be!

You can truly make your virtual head shaving event unique, fun and interactive, and we’re here to help!

Host a Watch Party

Host a live watch party on social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram, or your St. Baldrick’s participant page! Your followers can watch you shave live, donate, and comment as the shave takes place. Family and friends near and far can cheer for you in real time.

Share Your Video

Don’t want to shave live? We get it! Record your shave and upload your video on to social media platforms, such as Facebook, YouTube, etc. Add your participant link and encourage people to give and help you reach your fundraising goal.

Start a Challenge

Challenge three friends on social media by tagging them to participate and fundraise with you. Friends can then choose to participate as a virtual shavee OR donate $20 toward your shave (one-time or monthly).

Shave in a Virtual Group

Plan your virtual shave with other friends/family/team members who are also shavees. Band together and pick a date/time to shave online together –even when apart! You could use online video conferencing tools such as Zoom, WebEX, GotoMeeting, GoogleHangouts or StreamYard to facilitate a multi-location virtual event.

Create Fundraising Milestones

Take your shave to the next level with fundraising milestones along the journey! Commit to meet a challenge in exchange for donations. For example, a creative shavee told his donors he would shave half of his head now and then leave it until July 4th if he got to $10,000! You can even go live on social media and encourage your supporters to help you reach your milestones.

Follow Along on Social Media

Take videos and photos of your virtual shave and be sure to tag St. Baldrick’s. Use hashtags #VirtualShave2021, #ConquerKidsCancer, #StBaldricks and #GiveKidsALifetime so the Foundation can re-share your virtual shave with our community!
