At 80 years old, Frank Nutter is proving something powerful: purpose doesn’t have an expiration date.

A longtime supporter of childhood cancer research and a board member of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, Frank isn’t slowing down—he’s gearing up. Beginning this May, he’ll be cycling in a series of events and competitions across the country over six months, taking on some of the most iconic rides in the U.S. to raise awareness and critical funds for kids with cancer.

His journey begins on May 3 at the TD Five Boro Bike Tour in New York City, where he’ll ride 40 miles through all five boroughs alongside thousands of cyclists. But that’s just the start.

From there, Frank will take on endurance rides month after month—from the legendary RAGBRAI ride across Iowa to the Pan-Mass Challenge in Massachusetts—each mile building toward an even bigger goal: qualifying for the 2027 National Senior Games.

But for Frank, this journey is about more than distance or personal achievement.

It’s about impact.

For years, Frank has been deeply involved with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation—not only as a board member, but also as a dedicated shavee, earning the title of Knight of the Bald Table in the League of Legendary Heroes. Now, he’s channeling that same commitment into the sport he loves, using every ride as a way to fuel progress in childhood cancer research.

“Cycling 1000 miles is a challenging journey but not as challenging as the long, difficult one for kids with cancer and their families,” shares Frank. “I hope my journey inspires others. I invite others to follow along and look for ways to support the mission in their own way.”

At the heart of every mile is a simple but urgent mission: to Conquer Kids’ Cancer. The funds raised through Frank’s journey will support lifesaving research, helping bring better treatments—and ultimately cures—to children and families who need them most.

And perhaps just as importantly, his journey is a reminder that making a difference doesn’t come with an age limit. At a time when many are slowing down, Frank is pushing forward—breaking barriers, inspiring others, and proving that it’s never too late to take on something big.

Because every mile matters. And every child deserves a future.
