When Kevin Maloney lost his wife Lisa to cancer in 2016, he made her a promise—to do whatever he could to fight the disease that took her life.
What started as a deeply personal commitment has since grown into something far bigger.
Today, #RunForLisa is a powerful movement—bringing together dozens of runners, raising significant funds for childhood cancer research, and inspiring others to take action.
A Promise That Became a Purpose
Lisa was a passionate supporter of St. Baldrick’s and believed deeply in the mission to fund lifesaving childhood cancer research.
After her passing, Kevin channeled his grief into action.
Each year, alongside his close friend Mike Almskog, he takes on the Bermuda Triangle Challenge—a three-day running event that includes a mile, a 10K, and a marathon.

What began with just a small group of runners has grown into a team of more than 70 people from across the U.S. and beyond—all running in Lisa’s memory and for kids fighting cancer.
From 3 Runners to a Million-Dollar Impact
In the early days, there were just three participants.
Today, the #RunForLisa team has grown into a powerful community—bringing together friends, colleagues, and supporters from more than 20 companies.
Together, they’ve raised more than $1 million for St. Baldrick’s, funding critical research to find cures and better treatments for kids with cancer.

Their impact goes beyond fundraising.
They’ve built a movement rooted in love, resilience, and the belief that even one person can make a difference.
“As it says on My Wife Lisa Maloney’s Gravestone: “LOVE NEVER COMES TO AN END” it is a call to service for all of us to help St. Baldrick’s & the Fight Against Childhood Cancer ALWAYS – so every child gets to live a full life, filled with Love, Health & Happiness!” – Kevin Maloney
Running for Something Bigger
For Kevin, this isn’t just about crossing a finish line.
It’s about honoring Lisa’s legacy and helping children facing cancer have a better future.
Year after year, he returns to Bermuda—not just to run, but to continue the promise he made.
And that promise has inspired others to join him.
Because when people come together around a shared purpose, something powerful happens.
